One of the best pieces of advice I’ve gotten as a new author was from Sother Teague who told me to turn every trip into an opportunity to promote my book. So next week when I’m up in Portland, Oregon, checking out the food and drinks scene with Travel Portland, I’ll also be co-hosting a National Margarita Day party with Hey Love!

On Sunday, February 22 from 4 to 7pm, I’ll be there with local independent bookstore Broadway Books, selling and signing my cocktail book Margarita Time while the Hey Love crew will debut their El Tesoro barrel and serve up three delicious Margs, one of which appears in my book! So if you like what you taste, you can also buy the book and make their Oaxacan Sunrise (as well as 60 other Margaritas) at home. The other Margs are a classic made with the Hey Love x El Tesoro tequila and a spicy Margarita with housemade jalapeño syrup, lime juice, and fino sherry.

For eats, nosh on the CDMX bites by Machetes, which just celebrated their grand opening at Hey Love yesterday! I mean, LOOOOK! What better way to get through a Sunday than with vibrant Margaritas and delicious Mexican street food? See you there, Portland!
