LA Weekend Events September 22 to 24: Last Cinespia of Season, New Hangover Brunch, Tarfest

OK, apart from the awesomeness that is 4th Annual LA Beer Week, there ARE other LA weekend events going on.

Saturday, September 22

Cinespia Screens The Exorcist at Hollywood Forever Cemetery
Online tickets for what is the scariest movie EVER are already sold out but you can still walk up and buy tickets at the gate. This horror film classic with the pea soup, spinning head and the scariest little girl ever is the last movie of the season for Cinespia. And what better place to view it than at the cemetery as you get in the mood for Halloween?

10th Annual Tarfest Music and Art Festival
A free concert on a Saturday night! Easy and budget-friendly date night for the taking. This annual event which features live musical performances and art exhibits also has its own Lagunitas beer garden and wine bar. Food trucks will be on hand to get you fed.

Sunday, September 23

Freddy Smalls Debuts Its New Sunday Cure Brunch
West LA restaurant Freddy Smalls debuts its hangover brunch menu and hair of the dog cocktails this Sunday from 10am to 2pm. Comfort food ($7 to $13) like Slow Egg Panzanella and fried egg sandwich with Benton’s country ham will cure what ails ya. Brunch drinks ($9 to $12) include the usual suspects of Bloody Mary, Mimosa and Bellini as well as a White Greyhound with Tito’s vodka, white grapefruit and wildflower honey.

Dominick’s New “5 O’clock Meeting” Happy Hour
Wind down after your work day at this West Hollywood restaurant’s new weekday happy hour, which runs from the usual time of 5 to 7pm at the bar. Drink a $6 Gold Rush cocktail or $8 Penicillin while nibbling on oysters on a half shell. Or go for the $14 beef carpaccio with crispy bone marrow.
