Bon Appetit Grub Crawl Los Angeles: Downtown, Hollywood, West LA
All aboard the ultimate foodie tour. Bon Appetit partnered up with Belvedere Vodka to bring Angelenos on three separate crawls through some of our city’s hottest restaurants and bars. Friday’s tour feeds you French Dips at Coles and Umami sliders and washes that down with Las Perlas margaritas and a Seven Grand Old Fashioned. Saturday, which includes a tour and concert…is sold out so I won’t talk about that. But Sunday! Join up for the Westside tour of Father’s Office, Sotto, Picca and Lukshon. You can still buy tickets which run from $29 (Saturday concert) to $199 (weekend pass). Transportation is provided between venues.

  • Friday-Sunday. Tickets $29-$199. Various locations.

Saturday, July 14

Roy Choi’s All-You-Can-Eat-Fried-Chicken at A-Frame
This weekend kicks off Roy Choi’s weekly fried chicken gorge fest where, for $18, you get all the fried legs and thighs sous vide in spices, herbs, chilies that you can possibly eat. Price also includes sweet potato salad and coleslaw. AND if you’d like a bottomless mug of Hite to wash that down, it’s just $10.

  • Every Saturday and Sunday, 12-3pm. A-Frame, 12565 Washington Boulevard, Los Angeles (map). (310) 398-7700.

Tequila Taste Cuatro
You’ll definitely want to schedule a DD for this boozy affair. The fourth tequila tasting at this West L.A. wine store promises an offering of many favorites as well as newbies. Savor Fortaleza Anejo, Del Maguey Minero Mezcal and even Tapatio Tequila, which just made its U.S. debut. Chef Todd Barrie from Upstairs 2 will provide the viddles.

  • 1-4pm. Tickets: $49. Wine House, 2311 Cotner Avenue, West LA (map). (310) 479-3731.

CrabFest 8 at the Hungry Cat Hollywood

Monday, July 16

Jaws Screening and Cocktails at Big Bar
Big Bar’s Princess Bride screening was a hoot. I’m sure that Jaws will kick up the good times a notch, especially with that ominous Jaws theme blasting through the loud speakers and the big, bad shark cast on a 17-foot screen. Naturally there will be movie-themed cocktails available for your drinking pleasure. Think: “We’re Gonna Need a Bigger Punch” and a Great White beer cocktail. Those with a sweettooth may wanna try the Keep Kicking cocktail with Jameson, coffee, Amaro Meletti and sweet cream. For nosh there’s Amity Island crab rolls, “Shark Fin” nachos (NOT made with real shark fin), and Richard Dreyfish Sticks & Fries. Hint: Get there a couple hours early to really secure a seat.

  • 8pm. Free admission. Big Bar, 1929 Hillhurst Avenue, Los Feliz (map). (323) 644-0100.
