What have you got lined up for this gorgeous weekend? Here are some ideas.

The Oyster Gourmet Is Now Shucking on Thursdays at Church & State
Oyster Gourmet Christophe Happillon has been serving oysters at Church & State every Tuesday since 2010. But now with the growing popularity of oysters, he’s upping his visits to Tuesdays AND Thursdays. He’ll shuck every oyster at your table himself and tell you all about its texture, characteristics and finish. Some of his faves include Carlsbad Luna and British Columbia Fanny Bay oysters. Prices are $19 for a half dozen and $36 for a dozen.

  • Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-9pm. Church & State, 1850 Industrial Street, Los Angeles (map). (213) 405-1434.

Rosa Mexicano Avion Tequila Dinner
Would you rather pair booze with your dinner? Today is the second installment of Rosa Mexicano’s Monthly Tequila Dinner Series where they’ll pair Avion tequila with three traditional Mexican courses by executive chef Sam Christopher. Think Añejo Old Fashioned with Filet Mignon and Jalapeño Cilantro Margarita with tacos de hamachi. Reservations are required as space is limited.

  • 7pm. $55. Rosa Mexicano West Hollywood, 8570 West Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood (map). Reservations: (310) 657-4991.

Friday, June 29

Firestone Walker Rare Beer Night at Steingarten LA
If you haven’t tried it yet, you must get thee to Steingarten LA on Friday for Firestone Walker’s barrel-aged Velvet Merlin (aka Velvet Merkin)! Yes! For one night only, you can indulge in that as well as other FW favorite rarities like the XV Anniversary Ale, Parabola Imperial Stout 2012 and Sucaba barrel-aged barleywine, to name a few. Specials include $5 pints of cask beer and a special food menu.

  • 6-11pm. Steingarten LA, 10543 Pico Boulevard, West LA (map). (310) 441-0441.

Saturday, June 30

Fonuts Ice Cream Social
Fonuts ice cream sandwiches! You know it was bound to happen what with Sprinkles cupcake sandwiches and the popularity of Coolhaus. Except here it’s not so much a sandwich as it is housemade ice cream scooped on top of a Fonut. But who cares about technicalities when it’ll still taste good? Seasonal pairings include blueberry Earl Grey fonut with a lemon lavender sorbet and a summery-sounding strawberry buttermilk fonut with mint ice cream. Prices range from $5 to $8.

  • 6-9pm. Fonuts, 8104 W 3rd Street, Los Angeles (map).

Royal/T’s Greatest Hits Party
Party down at Royal/T Japanese maid cafe this Saturday. It’s going to be closing its doors this August so the cafe is throwing a Greatest Hits party which will feature the works of past artists and include a walkthrough with curators and artists like Andy Warhol museum director Eric Shiner and artist Kenny Scharf. There will be live music, desserts, drinks by Kirin and a midnight toast. Plus! Hello Kitty is making an appearance!

  • 8pm. Royal/T, 8910 Culver Boulevard, Culver City (map). RSVP: RSVP[at]ROYAL-T.ORG
