Golden Road Brewing Beer Dinner at Tin Roof Bistro
A great way to enjoy your favorite beers is while paired with some tasty vittles. Golden Road Brew and Tin Roof Bistro are joining forces to host a beer dinner where GRB’s brews will be paired with a five-course menu. You won’t want to miss the pairings of steak and ale pie with Get Up Offa That Brown or salted caramel profiteroles and chili chocolate sauce with Hudson Rye Porter. GRB peeps will be there to explain the pairings.

  • 7pm. $45. Tin Roof Bistro, 3500 N Sepulveda Boulevard, Manhattan Beach (map). (310) 939-0900.

Rum Society Tasting of Rare Cachacas at Cana Rum Bar
Cana regularly has Rum Society meetings for its members but they’re so popular that they usually book up right quick. Well, this time the downtown rum bar will be hosting a regular extra special tasting party where members pay $30 and get a welcome cocktail and a tasting “where we pour some really awesome stuff that nobody would ever allow us to give away. ” Kicking off this regular series tonight, Cana will welcome guests with Brazilian Daiquiri and then jump into a tasting of rare cachacas like Armizem Onix (an 18 year old cachaça), Weber Haus’ aged expression, and Novo Fogo’s organic aged cachaça.

  • 8pm. Tickets: $30. Cana Rum Bar, 714 West Olympic Boulevard, Downtown (map). (213) 745-7090.

38 Degrees 3rd Anniversary Barrel Aged Beer Fest
You will definitely need a designated driver for this one with over 25 barrel aged beers on tap from which to partake. Plus, after you go through all those, there’s always the 180 specialty bottles that 38 Degrees normally carries. Mmmm, beer.

  • 1pm. 38 Degrees, 100 W. Main Street, Alhambra (map). (626) 282-2038.

Saturdays Off the 405 at The Getty
Now this has “perfect first date” written all over it: gorgeous views of the city, outdoor music to sway to and art to give the impression that you’re wayy cultured. This monthly summer series starts up again with Allen Stone who has been described as “a pitch-perfect powerhouse” (USA Today). His mix of pop, R&B beats and classic soul will get you in the mooood, if you know what I mean.

  • 6-9pm. The Getty, 1200 Getty Center Drive, Los Angeles (map). (310) 440-7300.

Princess Bride Screening at Big Bar
OK, how many of you count Princess Bride as one of your most favorite movies ever? Big Bar will be screening this comedy classic on its S.O.U.S. (screen of unusual size)! Naturally there will be specially themed cocktails  for PB nerds (me!) like the Anybody Want a Peanut? — a peanut-washed Devil’s Cut bourbon drink.

  • 8pm. Free. Big Bar, 1929 Hillhurst Avenue, Los Feliz (map). (323) 644-0100.

Cari and Jaymee’s Lil’ Twisted Sangrita Tour Takes Harvard & Stone
Cari Hah (Neat Bar) and Jaymee Mandeville (Drago Centro) are making the sangrita-soaked rounds around town and their next stop is Harvard & Stone where they take over the R&D back bar rollin’ out their own special brand of awesome. There will be some new sangritas and, oh yes, Casa Noble Tequila.

  • 8pm. Harvard & Stone, 5221 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood (map). (323) 466-6063.

Seal Beach’s 320 Main Comes to The Eveleigh
If Seal Beach is too far for you to go for a cocktail no matter how amazing it is, then get yourself to The Eveleigh on Monday when Jason Schiffer of 320 Main in Seal Beach takes over the back bar at the Sunset Strip bar/restaurant. His cocktails are not to be missed. And this time you don’t have distance as an excuse to not try them. Jason was the bartender who made the best White Russian I’ve ever tasted.

  • The Eveleigh, 8752 W Sunset Boulevard, West Hollywood (map). (424) 239-1630.
