Buy Tickets to Art Beyond the Glass at Sadie Restaurant for June 17
If you’re going to ONE LA cocktail event this year, Art Beyond the Glass is it. Forget the rest, this one features the best. OK, that was a little corny but it’s true AND it’s really about the LA cocktail community. See your favorite LA bartenders like you’ve never seen them before: singing, doing live graffiti and chalk drawing, and even magic! Word has it that even cocktailing duo Marcos Tello and Aidan Demarest (1886, Tom Bergin’s Tavern) have an act but it’s top secret what exactly. Mark Gold of Sadie will be providing the gourmet eats and the open bar will be stocked by the likes of Atlantico Rum, Akvinta Vodka and Heaven Hill Distilleries, to name a few. Bar stars behind the stick include Julian Cox (Rivera/Playa), Matthew Biancaniello (Hollywood Roosevelt’s Library Bar) and Chris Ojeda (Soho House). Best part is that this whole event is only $40 (presale) and proceeds will go to Inner-City Arts, an arts education institution in Skid Row.

  • Sunday, June 17 from 3-8pm. Tickets: $40 presale, $50 at the door. Sadie, 1638 N Las Palmas, Hollywood (map). (323) 467-0200.

Golden Road Brewery Night at Sunset Beer Company
Local brewery, Golden Road, is taking over the taps at the Echo Park beer store, which is good news for those who for some reason can’t venture east to the actual brewery, which is really cool by the way. (Yummy food, too!) GRB will also be bringing a super-secret cask to tap! Wonder what it is.

  • 7pm. Sunset Beer Company, 1498 Sunset Boulevard, #3, Echo Park (map). (213) 481-2337.

DioNicEss X Beer Pairing Dinner at Beachwood BBQ & Brewing
This beer dinner is only for the adventurous diner as five aged foods involving different types of preservation (pickling, salt curing, fermenting, smoking) will be paired with five aged beers. Beachwood BBQ chef Gabe Gordon said, “Some of these flavors and textures are going to be way the hell out there.” So fair warning. World Beer Cup Gold Medal-winning brewmaster Julian Shrago created a special beer for the event, System of a Stout, an Imperial stout brewed in coffee beans and aged on oak chips. Final ABV? 11%! And Dave “The Gueuzehound” Watrous has concocted a barrel-aged beer cocktail incorporating sherry and Miracle Mile Sour Cherry. All proceeds from the event will go to Real Medicine Foundation.

  • 5pm. Tickets: $80. Beachwood BBQ & Brewing, 210 E 3rd Street, Long Beach (map).

Taste of the Nation
It’s still not too late to buy tickets to this killer tasting event which will showcase much buzzed about restaurants like Mo-Chica, Picca, Whist and ink.sack as well as the best beer from The Bruery, Eagle Rock Brewery and Stone Brewing and cocktails from 1886, La Descarga and Spare Room. Just check out the food and drink lists! 100 percent of the proceeds will go to Share Our Strength, a non-profit to end childhood hunger in America.

  • 1-4pm. Tickets: $110 general, $160 VIP. The Lot in West Hollywood, 1041 N Formosa Avenue, West Hollywood (map).
