Bobby Green of 1933 Group looked all over the South for Sassafras decor.

It’s just been announced today that 1933 Group — the bar group behind the Thirsty Crow, Bigfoot West and Oldfield’s — is getting set to debut yet ANOTHER bar. That’s now seven bars for those keeping score at home. The Southern-inspired Sassafras bar will be opening its doors this July on Vine Street, south of Fountain Avenue in Hollywood.

At 3,000 square feet, it’s gonna be the biggest bar the group has opened to date. Co-owner Bobby Green has decorated the venue with vintage pieces collected from all over the South. “Bobby is having an amazing time designing this space.  We have no doubt that people are going to be taken aback as they step into Sassafras bar and immediately feel like they are in another time and place,” said co-owner Dimitri Komarov in a press release.

No word on a cocktail menu yet but the release says the bar “will feature barrel-aged cocktails and root inspired libations like sarsaparilla and sassafras.” And there will be live music in the style of Americana, Southern and roots.

Photos of the venue are still to come but there was talk of an outdoor patio.
