Formosa’s “Decades” Launch Party Kickoff
The historic Formosa Cafe is relaunching and kicking things off with a series of decade-themed parties, starting tonight with a ’40s theme. And then each subsequent night will progress to the following decades — ’50s, ’70s, ’80s…you get the point. Show up in your snazziest period pieces and enjoy the decade-themed cocktails by Kate Grutman (Sotto).

Colorado Wine Company’s Sake Tasting
Indulge in some fine sake and cheese at the Eagle Rock wine shop. Sake purveyor Kris Elliott will take you through five different sakes, ones with cool names like “Distinguised Warlord” and “Silk Deluxe.”

Buy Tickets to Oscars Outdoors Screenings at Academy Hollywood
Tickets for this new outdoor “theater” which will screen favorite flicks on Academy Hollywood’s 40-by-20-foot screen go on sale this Friday. What’s it going to be? Princess Bride, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off and the singalong Wizard of Oz? It’s only $5 for a spot on the lawn. Bring your own blanket or low chair, break out the booze and either dig into your picnic basket or choose from the rotating selection of food trucks.

5-course Dinner Celebrating 7 Years of Providence
Starting June 1 two-star Michelin restaurant Providence will celebrate its seventh anniversary with a special five-course tasting menu. The menus will change daily and costs $75 or $120 with a wine pairing.

Foie Festival at Wilshire Restaurant
With the July 1 ban on foie gras looming in California, it’s been a regular foie frenzy. The latest foie dinner is this one at Wilshire Restaurant which features dishes from Ray Garcia (Fig), Kris Morningstar (Ray’s & Stark Bar), and Nyesha Arrington (Wilshire) plus cocktails by Jeremy Lake of Playa! A portion of sales will benefit  C.H.E.F.S., the Coalition for Humane and Ethical Farming Standards.
