Hungry Cat Hollywood’s 7th Anniversary
What better way to celebrate an anniversary than with an all-day happy hour? Hungry Cat Hollywood is going on its 7th year (hey, so is this blog!) and wants you to share your HC memories by sending your photos to bob [at] thehungrycat.com. Then head to its Vine Street location for $1 oysters and half off specialty cocktails ALL DAY!

  • Hungry Cat Hollywood, 1535 N Vine Street, Hollywood (map). (323) 462-2155.

Golden Road Brewing’s Lady Flight Day
For International Women’s Day today, Golden Road Brewing is debuting its first collaborative brew, Valentin — a 6.5% ABV French Saison of blood oranges, brewed by Hangar 24’s Kevin Wright. It’ll be included in the special Lady Flight with Golden Road Hefeweizen, Point the Way IPA and Vinaceoius Old Ale, all for $9. $2 from each flight will be donated to Planned Parenthood. Yay!

Cismontane Tap Takeover at Sunset Beer Company
If you can’t make it all the way to Cismontane’s brewery in Rancho Santa Margarita for its beer release weekend (mmm, chardonnay barrel-aged Citizen!), not to fret as the beermaker will be taking over the taps at Sunset Beer Co. in Echo Park. Enjoy the likes of Black’s Dawn, Cismontaps barrel-aged Saison and Classified Doppelsticke. Also the Grilled Cheese Truck will be on hand (7:30-9pm) should you want to do your own grilled cheese and beer pairing.

  • 7pm. Sunset Beer Company, 1498 Sunset Boulevard #3, Echo Park (map). (213) 481-2337.

Saturday, March 10

Devil’s Night Drive In: Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory
Before there was Jacques Torres, there was Willy Wonka. Pull up some Astroturf and enjoy this classic about everyone’s favorite eccentric chocolatier taking the worst kids ever on a chocolate factory tour. Needless to day, hilarity, and life lessons, ensues. The drive-in is BYOB so pack up a chocolate porter or, if you’re feeling fancy, the fixings for 320 Main’s Dirty Ground, a grown-up’s chocolate cocktail.

  • Gates open at 6pm. $10 presale, $12 gate. 240 W. 4th Street, 2nd floor, Downtown (map).

Monday, March 12

Unique LA’s Movie Night: Clueless
Gotta love this updated, Angeleno-fied version of Jane Austen’s Emma. And oh, the language. Before you know it, you’ll be taking up the Clueless Lexicon again. And if the movie isn’t enough, there will be drink specials, Two Boots pizza, free popcorn and more!

  • Doors at 7pm, show 7:30pm. $10. The Echoplex (below the Echo), 1154 Glendale Boulevard, Los Angeles (map).
