The Edison Downtown is certainly doing its part to keep me fat! Maple-candied bacon? Ayeeee! Tonight the downtown hotspot debuts its Midnight Breakfast menu for those with late-night munchies. Going forward, breakfast will be served every Friday and Saturday from 11:30pm to 1am. However, since those are the busiest nights for the Edison, good luck finding a place to sit down and tuck in.

Here’s the menu; everything is $13 each.

  • Monte Cristo: Black Forest ham and Gruyere cheese sandwich with powdered sugar, maple syrup and strawberry compote
  • Edison Silver Dollar Stack: Wild blueberry buttermilk pancakes, maple-candied bacon, lemon butter and syrup
  • Nutella-Banana Crepes: Vanilla crepes stuffed with brown butter bananas, Nutella, chocolate sauce, whipped cream and chopped hazelnuts
  • The Boiler Room Benedict: Crispy British muffin, slow poached eggs, pancetta bacon and chive hollandaise
  • Working Joe Breakfast: The works, diner-style – two eggs, home fries, short stack and candied bacon

For what to drink with your “midnight breakfast”, I’m thinking the English Afterthought (gin, St. Germain liqueur, muddled blueberries and ginger) and/or Amelie (Ron Matusalem Classico, bitters, crushed strawberries and cucumber and effervescence).
