Barnsdall Outdoor Movie Nights: Swingers and Silverlake Wine Beer Tasting

— by Caroline on Crack

Thanks to my co-worker and guy about town, Glenn, for giving me the heads-up just now about this really awesome-sounding event at Barnsdall this Saturday. For this weekend’s Barnsdall Outdoor Movie Night, not only will they screen one of my fave L.A.-based movies, Swingers, but Silverlake Wine will present a beer tasting of four artisanal brews!

Come early to enjoy some refreshing beer before you watch Mike and Trent’s excellent adventure. (Remember how cute Vince Vaughn and Jon Favreau used to be?) And then the screening will take place on the West Lawn of Frank Lloyd Wright’s Hollyhock House. You are welcome to bring your own picnic but no outside alcoholic beverages are allowed.

Ice cream truck Coolhaus will be on hand selling its ice cream sandwiches including special Movie Night flavor, Guinness Chip. Duuude! And if you’re not the picnic-packing type, Let’s Be Frank hot dog truck will be there as well to sell grass-fed beef hot dogs and family-farmed pork sausages to all the beautiful babies.

Cost for the movie and beer tasting is $25 and you need to make a reservation. But if you just want to see the movie it’s $10 and no rsvp required.

All profits from this event will go to Barnsdall Art Park Foundation programs and projects. Yay!

EVENT: SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 from 5:30 to 10pm
