Joy of Sake's Origin of Aroma Party at Katana

The Joy of Sake’s Aftertaste “Origin of Aroma” event at Katana sounds just so L.A. and I don’t mean that in a bad way. But what’s more L.A. than sipping 37 different sakes while seeing and being seen on Katana‘s patio overlooking the Sunset Strip? Swank! And yet this will be the first time an Aftertaste event will take place in L.A. Usually they’re in Honolulu, New York and San Francisco.

And it’s surprisingly affordable considering the location. For $37, guests get to sample 37 sakes — from the subtle to the highly aromatic — including gold and silver award winners from the U.S. National Sake Appraisal as well as partake of Katana’s appetizers like toro tartare with Japanese eggplant medallions, baked cod marinated with miso and rib eye and chicken and green onion skewers.

And of course you won’t just drink at this sake appreciation party but you’ll learn how brewers coax the scents of apple, lychee and anise from just water, rice and yeast. Amazing techniques that took a century to perfect.

Space is limited but you can buy your tickets online or call Katana at (323) 650-8585 to place your reservation.

EVENT: WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 5 from 6 to 8pm
