What a weird weekend.

Friday, May 1

Michael Jackson’s HiStyle at the Grammy Museum
On the heels of MJ’s “auction” is this exhibit where you can visit the pop icon’s heavily bejeweled costumes that he wore throughout his career. And that includes his trademark crystal-studded glove. For the price of admission, you can also peruse the other exhibits of the museum. Tickets are usually $14.95 but you can get them for $12 ($8 with $4 processing fee) on Goldstar.

  • Saturday-Sunday. 800 W Olympic Boulevard, Downtown (map).

Saturday, May 2

Red Mango Freebie Flavor Preview: Tangomonium
Fro-yo shop, Red Mango, is debuting its newest flavor by giving out free samples with one free topping. The new flavor with the weird name is described to taste like “fruit and citrus, and…light and refreshing” meant to evoke “memories of spring and summers past.”

  • 12-4pm. Various Red Mango locations.

Derby Day at South
This Santa Monica sports bar is hosting a special brunch with race day drink menu just for Derby Day, “the fastest 2 minutes in sports.” Dress to the nines and get a chance to win prizes for the most dapper dude and the gal with the best derby hat. Think Audrey Hepburn in My Fair Lady. If you pick the trifecta you’ll get $15 off your bar tab.

  • 2pm. South Santa Monica, 3001 Wilshire Boulevard, Santa Monica (map). (310) 828-9988.

Sunday, May 3

21st Vintage Bouquet
Fan-ceeee! The Beverly Hills Bar Foundation presents the 21st Vintage Bouquet at the lovely Greystone Mansion. Enjoy unlimited wine tastings, hors d’oeuvres, live band and a silent auction. Best part is that you can get the $150 ticket for about 60% off through Goldstar!

  • 12-4pm. $150, $61.50 on Goldstar. Greystone Mansion, 905 Loma Vista Drive, Beverly Hills (map).

Silverlake Wine Co.’s Sunday Tasting and Little Dom’s
This week’s tasting spotlights Medici Ermete Italian wines with Alberto Medici, fourth-generation winemaker, taking tasters on a tour of five fine wines like the fun and fizzy Daphne Malvasia Frizzante DOC Secco 2007 and the rich, fruity Concerto Lambrusco Reggiano DOC Secco 2008. Bonus that Little Dom’s will provide the perfect accompaniment of Italian food.

  • 3pm. $20, reservations required. Silverlake Wine Co., 2395 Glendale Boulevard, Silver Lake (map). (323) 662-9024.
