Renee Vintage Designs: Affordable Vintage Jewelry

— by Caroline on Crack

While shopping the marketplace section of the Pamper Me Fabulous spa event a couple of weeks ago, I was drawn to this table of shiny rings. Baubles, bling and bijoux, Renee Vintage Designs’ beautiful vintage rings reminded me of the gorgeous costume jewelry that my mom used to sell for Celebrity Jewelry when she was a stay-at-home mom in the ’70s.

It might be because this four-month-old Southern California jewelry company creates its beautiful rings, bracelets, pill boxes, cuffs and even business card holders from vintage costume jewelry, mostly earrings. Perfect considering those old earrings may be too gaudy for your ears nowadays but would decorate your digits nicely. The genius idea belongs to owner Renee Capizzi who has long been a fan of vintage fashion.

Each ring is handcrafted, one of a kind and adjustable. You can thank the ring shanks which can be bent inward or widened so they can fit any size finger.

But the rings are such gorgeous fun. I was transported back to when I was a little girl playing with fun, fabulous shiny rings and feeling like a princess. If you’re looking for something not too shiny shiny, you might like something in the men’s rings section which are more simple but elegant.

I think the best part has to be the prices. Pretty affordable. You’d think by looking at them that they’d cost so much more but instead the rings range from about $50-$80.

While checking out all the rings at the Pamper Me Fabulous event, I just couldn’t make up my mind as to which one I wanted. They were all so pretty! Finally, I settled on the one that Renee had the matching pair of, a beautiful red bejeweled number. She said it was one of the first ones that she made and couldn’t understand why it took so long to sell. But I told her that it was probably because it was waiting for me.

Renee Vintage Designs don’t have a storefront yet but shop the Web site in the meantime and keep an eye out for the rings at fashion events.
