Well, I’m out of here on Saturday through the 29th. I’ll probably still blog out of boredom cuz I’ll be in Sacramento. So I leave L.A. to you fine folks. Happy holidays!

Last Day for Falcon’s $1 Bathtub Gin and Market Crash Menu
Yet another way to get through these trying times. Falcon‘s has a “market-crash menu” today with goodies to keep your tummies warm, like gourmet peanut butter and jelly sandwiches served with Kahlua and milk, the mini grilled cheese sandwiches with tomato gazpacho, and mac ‘n’ cheese ($5 each). But if drinking is the only thing that brings you joy, the “Stockbroker Blues” cocktail is also only $5 and the homemade Bathtub Gin is a mere buck. Live jazz will keep your feet tapping and a SOVA food bank donation will be on hand so you can provide for even the lesser fortunate.

  • 7-10pm. Falcon, 7213 Sunset Boulevard, Los Angeles (map). (323) 850-5350.

El Bar Opens
Vintage Bar Group (The Woods, The Well) is opening up a new bar tonight and a tiny one at that. El Bar, in Universal City on Cahuenga, features Spanish art, a gold banquette, exposed brick, a taxidermied bull’s head and an eclectic jukebox. To quench your thirst, order up a 24-ounce can of Modello ($4) or try the Latin Lover cocktail.
