This Weekend: Free Cupcakes Again, Red Line Pub Crawl and Jimmy Choo Xmas Tree

— by Caroline on Crack

Happy Thanksgiving, crackheads! Most of you are probably out of town anyway but for those who stayed I worked really hard finding some things for you to do. BTW, if you came here looking for Black Friday ideas I’ve got none since I’m not doing Christmas this year but fortunately Rundown has got a list of Black Friday specials.

Friday, November 28

Free Crumbs Cupcakes at Glendale Store Grand Opening
If you still find yourself inexplicably hungry after Thanksgiving, you’ll be delighted to know that the new Crumbs location at The Americana at the Brand in Glendale will be giving away 1,000 cupcakes in celebration of its grand opening. Don’t get too excited though, it’s only one freebie per person.

  • 9am. Crumbs Americana, Americana at Brand, 889 Americana Way, Glendale (map). (818) 637-8982.

Red Line Pub Crawl from Union Station to Cahuenga Corridor
L.A. folks are having a pub crawl to take advantage of the Red Line’s new 3am end time on weekends (only til the end of the year). The starting point will be Traxx at Union Station  where pub crawlers will knock back cocktails til 9pm and then hop on the metro heading to Hollywood’s Cahuenga Corridor — Tiny’s KO, Velvet Margarita Cantina, Burgundy Room. Awesome since you don’t have to worry about looking for parking or driving home drunk. Remember to purchase a $5 all day pass beforehand, though, and if you want to keep it cheap, bring your own flask.

  • 8pm. Starting point: Traxx at Union Station, 800 N Alameda Street, Downtown (map).(213) 625-2999.

Neon Noise Dance Party at Medusa Lounge
Feeling all flabby after stuffing your face on T-day? Work out on the dance floor. Indie 103.1’s “Neon Noise” host DJ Paul V will be providing his ultra groovy mashup of indie rock and electronic dance music for the gays and straights on Medusa Lounge’s spacious dance floor. This monthly dance party goes off every fourth Friday of the month. If you RSVP on, admission is free!

  • 9pm. $5 or free with RSVP. Medusa Lounge, 3211 Beverly Boulevard, Los Angeles (map). (213) 382-5723.

Hot Chocolate Bar and Jimmy Choo Holiday Tree at the Beverly Wilshire
Two swell things under one magnificent roof! The Blvd at the Beverly Wilshire has the most awesome-sounding holiday treat: a hot chocolate bar which features concoctions like the Melted Snowflake, the spicy Mamacita as well as BH-inspired Tiffany Blue and Valentino Red cocktails. And stop by the hotel’s lobby to admire the Jimmy Choo tree which is made of only beautiful JC accessories! Namely the colorful 2009 Cruise collection. The tree will be on display til NYE.

  • Beverly Wilshire, 9500 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills (map). (310) 275-5200.

Ghettogloss’ Silver Lake Art/Craft & Vintage Flea Market
This Eastside flea market sounds like a treasure trove of hip, eclectic finds. Produced by Ghettogloss (who also brings you the weekly gorilla-sexy Bronx Zoo), this bazaar features crafts, collectibles and even tarot readings. A portion of the proceeds will go toward the construction of Silver Lake’s new library.

  • 9am to 5pm. Every weekend through December 21. Citibank Parking Lot, 2450 Glendale Boulevard, Los Angeles (map). (323) 912-0008.
