Balsh-stille Day Party: Cocktails for a Good Cause

I know, I’m still on my road trip (we’re in Eugene, Oregon, and heading to Sacramento, California, today) but I wanted to post this awesome event asap.

For Bastille Day next Monday, some of L.A.’s best in the food and cocktail community are coming together to help one of their own. The party will go off at The Foundry on Melrose and feature the culinary talents of Eric Greenspan (owner and executive chef of The Foundry on Melrose), Ray England (sous chef at Craft Los Angeles) and Lisa Vega (pastry at Providence Restaurant).

AND some of my favorite bartenders will be manning the cocktail shakers! Damian (Gordon Ramsay at The London), Marcos Tello (Comme Ca and The Edison), Christine D’Abrosca (Malo) and Chris Ojeda (Osteria Mozza).

This night of deliciousness where you get to mix and mingle with L.A.’s food and beverage elite and their foodie groupies (me!) is only $40. And all proceeds from the night will go to help Billy Walsh, a cook at Craft Restaurant and a waiter at Osteria Latini.

Ya see, several months ago Billy was riding to work on his Vespa when he was taken out by a driver who didn’t see him. He suffered bleeding and swelling of the brain, a collapsed lung, fractured ribs and leg lacerations and “slept” in the hospital for two weeks. But the thing is, Billy, like many in the food industry, doesn’t have health insurance.

Fortunately, Billy does have great friends and they’re all coming together for this night with even some additional cocktail extraordinaires flying in from New York and San Francisco to help him out.

The $40 for the night includes dinner, dessert and a cocktail, but you can purchase even more cocktails if you want to try everyone’s creations.

Hope to see you there.
