The moment we’ve been waiting for is here! The Sex and the City movie! Our girls are back and so is Mr. Big. AND it looks like he and beloved heroine Ms. Carrie Bradshaw are finally tying the knot! Or ARE they?
Feels like I waited forever to see this on the big screen. (Can you believe it’s been FOUR years?) And I honestly don’t care if the reality falls short of my expectations, which I’m sure it won’t. I wanted to make a girls’ night out of it. Figured that my girls and I could have dinner, see Le Sex and then go out for some flirtinis after.
But it looks like ArcLight has a better idea for fans thinking the same thing: special 21+ screening parties for the SATC premiere weekend where you can enjoy your cocktails during the movie (ID required). Hello, luv-uh!
For $60 you get the SATC party package, which includes one regular admission 21+ ticket, a reservation in the ArcLight café/bar, two cocktails (featuring SKYY cosmopolitans & martinis), savory & sweet heavy appetizers, a Sex and the City fedora and logo martini glass, all taxes and gratuity included.
Such a bargain considering a typical girls’ night with dinner, drinks and a flick would end up costing you about $20-$30 for din-din, $20-$30 for a couple of specialty cocktails, $14 for a ticket to the ArcLight and of course money for a cab to get from place to place. With the party package you get all that in one shot PLUS a fedora and martini glasses to take home. OK, those last two things are schwag-ish, but still fun stuff.
So, if you have a mind to do this, do it asap as the tickets are going so fast.
Yesterday afternoon I bought mine for the Saturday 10:30 show at the ArcLight Sherman Oaks and when I checked the site again when I got home from work, it was sold out. Or at least was listed as “No showtimes for this location.” Geez!
The only special SATC show left out of the six for both venues is the 10:45pm show on Sunday at the ArcLight Hollywood. It’s understandable that seats are still available considering it is the night before a work day. However, if you’re a real Sex and the City fan, that don’t mean a thang.
UPDATE: The ArcLight just added more showtimes for this SATC special: 7:50pm shows on June 7 and 8 at the Hollywood location and a 10:30pm show on June 1 at Sherman Oaks.
