9th Annual Open That Bottle Night: No Corkage!

— by Caroline on Crack

No corkage fee!

I first heard about this from Pacific Dining Car but I didn’t know there were more restaurants involved in this 9th Annual Open That Bottle Night. Apparently some Wall Street Journal wine writers started this tradition where they encouraged winos to bring out those vintages they were saving for a special occasion and enjoy them at participating restaurants.

The idea is that you would share your story with other vino lovers about why that particular wine is special to you and what occasion you were hoping to save it for. Personally, I’m stingy and can’t understand why anyone would want to share their special wine with strangers but for the more gracious among us, here’s the event for you.

Eater LA convinced over 20 L.A. restaurants to participate in the tradition by waiving their usual $20-$35 corkage fee (some have a 2-bottle limit). So now you can break open that bottle and enjoy it at a pretty swank restaurant. It will definitely make that expensive dinner a tad cheaper not having to purchase wine to go with it.

Make your reservations tout de suite!
