I know weekends are probably your time to veg but with all the fun stuff that’s going on, you won’t wanna. Besides a lot of these goodies require some sort of aerobic activity like screaming, biking, dancing and bowling — it’s all good for you.

Friday, September 7

Fridays Off the 405 with Them Jeans and DJ Swayzee
Originally Ima Robot was scheduled to play at the Getty Center’s monthly series tonight. But they inexplicably canceled and now Them Jeans, aka DJ Jason Stewart of Tuesdays at Cinespace, and Bay Area mixmaster DJ Swayzee will be providing the tunes. S’all good. You can still wind down at the end of this short work week with a bit of dancing.

Puma Tent Sale

Mamacita’s Market Day on Olvera Street
This monthly event hits different places around town, but this Saturday it’s on culture-rich Olvera Street. Enjoy gourmet tacos, dance to DJs, get your hair did and shop the boutiquey clothes, jewelry and bags vendors. There will even be an ice cream/candy truck!

Esotouric’s Hotel Horrors Tour
If you love CSI and L.A. history, this is the tour for you as it takes you through some of the goriest and weirdest events in historic downtown hotels. If you want, you can also purchase tickets to the Main Street Vice event which follows this tour and save $5 off the combo.

Angel City Drive-In: Pee Wee’s Big Adventure
Ferget that overcrowded cemetery screening, the Angel City Drive-In is where it’s at. This Saturday, worship at the the screen during the ultimate biker movie: Pee Wee’s Big Adventure. It’s a carless event held in the parking lot adjacent to the Alexandria Hotel. So bicycle in, park it and cheer on this love story between a boy and the keenest bike in the world.

Eagle Rock Sunday Bowling and Drinking Club
