L.A. Film Festival's Conversation With Danger Mouse

— by Caroline on Crack

Sure, they are probably two of the hottest djs currently on the music scene, but have you ever wondered if cutting-edge mixmasters Jason Bentley and Danger Mouse secretly harbor bubblegum pop leanings? Now you can find out thanks to L.A. Film Festival’s “Conversation with Danger Mouse.”

Today at the Hammer Museum, KCRW’s Jason Bentley will ask the other half of Gnarls Barkley (responsible for that song I can’t get out of my head, “Crazy”) about underground music, mixing new sounds with technology, and the adrenaline of performing to a sold-out crowd.

From the Hammer Museum site:

DJ, producer, and 2006 L.A. Film Festival Artist in Residence Danger Mouse (Brian Burton) garnered attention for his 2004 underground The Grey Album, a mash-up of Jay-Z’s The Black Album and The Beatles’ The White Album. In 2005, he was recognized with a Grammy nomination for his production of The Gorillaz’s Demon Days.

It would be awesome if the two djs had a spin-off or something but alas it doesn’t sound like it from the looks of the event description.

Seating is first come, first serve for this free event so get there early.
