KCRW's World Festival: Zero 7 & Gotan Project

Bah! The only tickets available for Thievery Corporation/The Flaming Lips at KCRW World Festival’s Bowl show are onesies. I thought I still had some time to buy ’em since the show is all the way in July, and summer Bowl shows rarely sell out. Even tickets for the potentially awesome Sergio Mendes Brazil night with John Legend and India.Arie to name a few are still up for grabs.

Fortunately you can still snag tickets for another great show at the legendary venue: Gotan Project, Zero 7 (Jose Gonzalez and Sia) and Herbert on August 27 at 7pm.

I caught Sia at the Gibson Amphitheater and she was awesome AND adorable. I can just imagine her ethereal voice and the dreamy music of Zero 7 wafting through the Bowl on a warm summer evening.

From the Hollywood Bowl site:

Gotan Project’s electronic tango fuses the captivating sounds of Paris and Buenos Aires; Zero 7 evokes London style with dreamy electronica chill-out; and Matthew Herbert excites with his inventive jazz-tronic sound.

Both the ultraexpensive seats and uber-cheap seats are already sold out but there are still spots available in the extreme edges of the front level behind the boxes as well as benches M-U. Still totally worth it. You may not be able to get a good look at the performers but you can still enjoy a lovely evening out with good friends, a picnic basket and several bottles of wine.
