New Bar Buzz: Hyde Lounge

— by Caroline on Crack

Add another one to the velvet rope set on Sunset Boulevard. Hyde Lounge, a new loungy bar, opened up on Sunset and Crescent Heights just last Thursday but forget about keeping your entourage in tow. It sounds too tiny to squeeze in your bodyguard, publicist, date du noir, bff, including your usual hangers-on.

L.A. party kings, nightclub promoter Brent Bolthouse (pictured above) of Privilege and hot spot owner Sam Nazarian (Prey, Privilege and Lobby Supper Club), have activated their nightlife wonder twin powers to create an uber-exclusive bungalow lounge with an only 100-person capacity. Yes, get there at 7 if you want to dodge the velvet rope. After 10? Fuggedabout it, my friend.

From Daily Candy:

Rosy and warm, the space has high arched ceiling, low velvet banquets, rich wood accents, and surprisingly comfy red faux-croc cushioned ottomans…Once inside, order from the Katsuya-engineered menu of Asian-inspired bar food and sip modern versions of old-fashioned cocktails.
