Don’t know these people, but don’t they look like they’re having dazed and confused fun?

I love it when I find a “new” bar in my neighborhood and apparently Backstage is “the best dive bar in the world.” I’m not sure what exactly qualifies it as such since it seems like a typical dive bar, minus the free popcorn and cigarette smoke. However, it’s open 365 days a year, mixed drinks are $3, and there’s “Killer Karaoke” Thursday through Saturday.

You also have a pool table, dartboard, tabletop Ms. PacMan, eclectic jukebox, huge screen TVs AND, my favorite and a standout, a firepit. Their Web site says that a lot of Sony folks hang here since it’s behind the Sony studios and if that’s the case, I likes the Sony people cuz the clientele of Backstage are pretty friendly and relaxed for industry people.

I really like coming here to wind down when I don’t want to think about where I want to go for a drink. And I’d almost consider coming by myself. It’s THAT low-key. Not a fan of the food (eww, grease-soaked quesadillas), but a big fan of the cheap cocktails poured with a heavy hand.
