Yay! It’s that time of year again, Nike’s Run Hit Remix fun run. During the 5-mile race, Naughty by Nature, Sir Mix-A-Lot, The Sugarhill Gang, and Dawn Robinson from En Vogue will perform live on different stages sprinkled throughout the course. The finish line concert entertainer will be none other than MC Hammer. Even if you aren’t crazy about any of those performers, the race itself is always so much fun to participate in. And I’m sure you’ll find yourself boogeying and doing that Hammer sideways dance across the finish line.

Last year’s run was a blast. Sure, you have the hard-core runners who want to beat the clock but most everyone else liked to stop and enjoy each mini concert on the course. Sometimes jumping on stage with the performers and singing along to those oldie but goodie one-hit wonders.

Registration for the September 15 run starts today ($31 through 8/28 and $39 thereafter) and if you get in there early and get three of your friends to sign up, too, you and your pals get access to Nike’s VIP Let Me Play Lounge where there are free massages, VIP bag check and a large breakfast spread for after the race. It’s worth planning ahead.

NOTE: If you want to sign up three of your friends so that you can get into the VIP lounge, register first. Then you will receive an email with a Refer-A-Friend code that you send to your three buddies who will then enter the code when they register to get credit.
